During your initial visit, Dr. Steve Douglas will perform a comprehensive dental examination, and if necessary, we may suggest diagnostic and preventive dental services, as well as any needed educational information, which are all designed to help you maintain your smile’s health.
Diagnostic services include:
- Reviewing and updating medical history, including information about heart problems, diabetes and medications, which may have an impact on your oral health
- Oral cancer examination and screening
- Evaluation of gum tissue and periodontal probing
- Check biting, chewing and swallowing patterns
- X-rays & examination of the teeth to detect decay
Preventive services include:
- Professional Teeth Cleaning
- Oral hygiene instructions
- Nutritional counseling
- Removal of plaque and tartar to prevent Periodontal Disease
- Stain Removal
- Fluoride treatment
- Sealants
- Polishing teeth, including fillings and crowns
- Cleaning of dentures and partials
- Based on the results of your exam, if more cleaning is necessary the doctor may recommend Periodontal Care
