Dr. Douglas graduated in the top 8% of his dental school class at Indiana University’s School of Dentistry making him eligible for the national honors dental fraternity Omicron Kappa Upsilon. He is also proud of his memberships in the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), the American Dental Association (ADA), and the Indiana (IDA) and Indianapolis (IDDS) dental associations. Dr. Douglas has been in practice at his current location since 1991 and has continued his education with hundreds of hours of classroom and clinical studies.
Dr. Douglas has been married to Heather since 1992 and has two children Breck and Timothy. Always one to work with his hands, Dr. Douglas is constantly on the hunt for his next around-the-house project. He also enjoys traveling (especially to beaches), golf, and water activities.
It's our goal to provide you and your family with the highest quality of dental care and to make you feel as comfortable as possible when you visit our office.
Originally from Anderson, IN, April attended IU Bloomington and the IU School of Dentistry. She has worked with Dr Douglas for over 26 years.
While enhancing patient's oral-health, April has been able to get to really get to know her families. She has truly enjoyed meeting and treating the children and grandchildren of those families too!
April is the proud mother of triplets: Taylor, Andrew, and Madison, all attending college (Roll Tide, Chirp Chirp, Go Titans!). April and her husband, John, have known each other for over 32 years and have been married for 26 of them (wants you to believe she was a child bride). She loves to spend time with family and friends, playing golf, and walking her 10-year-old goldendoodle, Cooper.
Emily did her college studies at the University of Southern Indiana graduating in 1998 with an Associate degree in Science and in 1999 with a Bachelors degree in Science focusing on Dental Hygiene Education. She has worked for Dr Douglas for over 20 years and especially enjoys using dental hygiene instruction to help patients enjoy better overall health.
Emily enjoys her time away from the office volunteering at her children’s schools and multiple local animal shelters. Her interests include numerous outdoor activities with her husband and children.
Heather provides administrative and consulting services for the practice. Working part-time in the office, she is usually behind the scenes (and sits literally behind Kathy our office manager). Heather has a management degree from IUPUI's Kelley School of Business and brings with her many years’ experience in bank management. She loves nature, volunteering in the community and with her parish/kids’ school, and caring for others.
As our newest team member, Kathy has worked in our office for 3 years but has actually been a patient for over 10 years. Starting in the dental profession in 1988 (she says at age 5) as an orthodontic assistant in her hometown of Sweetser, Indiana, Kathy moved to Indianapolis to continue her career in 1990.
Kathy enjoys spending time with her husband Brian, and her two sons, Connor, 14 and Charlie, 11. She has two Australian Shepherds, Izzy and Auggie, a rescue Chihuahua, Emme (you may have seen Kathy and Emme on the evening news), and a cat named Olive. (Go Rebels & Flashes)
Kathy really enjoys getting to know all our patients and can help with all your insurance and billing questions.
Melissa has been with us for over 22 years, and is a southside Indy native. She attended Perry Meridian High school, Indiana State University and the IU school of Dentistry Assisting program.
Melissa is married to Matthew and they have 2 children, Addison and Mason. When she is not watching one of the kids’ travel ball games, Melissa enjoys watching the Colts, college football and basketball games (Go Tar Heels), reading, and keeping Dr. Douglas on his toes.
Beware of trampling if you ever get between Melissa and Adam Levine!
Wendy is originally from Fort Wayne, IN where she graduated with her AS in dental hygiene in ’92 and her BS ED in ’95. She also received a certificate in Post Graduate Studies in Preventive and Community Dentistry from the IU School of Dentistry in 2001.
Wendy has worked for Dr. Douglas for 18 years, and really enjoys her role helping patients achieve and maintain their oral health. She loves the relationships that she has formed with her patients over the years and feels that dental hygiene has been a rewarding profession.
Married with two active teenage daughters, Wendy spends her free time attending volleyball and softball games as well as dance recitals. She is especially proud to be the mother of a Purdue Boilermaker!
